Testimonials

As President of Waverley Blues, I write to express our sincere gratitude for the ongoing support the Mulgrave Country Club continues to provide grass roots sporting clubs like Waverley Blues. Your sponsorship of our club over the past decade has been outstanding. These funds are significant and go to the heart of enabling our club to operate compliantly and successfully. It is well documented that the net benefit for the community by having local suburban sporting clubs, that involve all people in our regions, is extremely rewarding and helps combat anti-social behaviour.
We provide the following:

  • a safe and positive environment for our juniors, youth and young adults to learn and play sport in a controlled and disciplined environment
  • a community hub that teaches, enables social awareness and successful human spirit to reside within our community
  • a place that all community members are made welcome and can call home

The Waverley Blues mantra:

  • strong people
  • strong club
  • strong community

Without the outstanding and ongoing support that the Mulgrave Country Club provides clubs like Waverley Blues our aims and aspirations long into the future cannot be possible. On behalf of all members of Waverley Blues we congratulate and say thank you to the Mulgrave Country Club.

Next year, 2020, Waverley Benevolent Society will celebrate 50 years of supporting disadvantaged citizens of Monash with food security. There are 400 local families who come for help every year. Our volunteers listen to their stories, give them food vouchers and food, and in the course of the interview help them to discover and interact with other services who may be able to help them.

An accident, a serious illness, getting older, looking after grandchildren, or just coming from a disadvantaged background will bring people to our offices for help when the bills have to take priority over putting food on the table.

WBS receives no government funding of any kind and is entirely dependent on donations which fall into two categories – assistance from the Mulgrave Country Club and donations from other, smaller, community clubs and societies.

It is entirely accurate to say that without the ongoing and extremely generous help of the Mulgrave Country Club over the last 4.5 years, Waverley Benevolent Society would have been forced to cease operations. As it is, this reliable and generous monthly donation allows us to plan and continue our service, and we are deeply thankful that the Club takes its community obligations as seriously as it does.

Glenallen School is proud and privileged to have a long-standing community partnership with the Mulgrave Country Club (MCC).

The MCC continues to support our students and their families through providing scholarships, funding for school camps and individual pieces of equipment to assist students with their mobility.

Glenallen School is always welcome by the MCC to use their facilities and are included equally as members of the community to actively participate in activities the club provides.

As the students enter into the adult world as responsible young people, our community enjoys celebrating the students’ graduation evenings at the club. I would like to thank the MCC for their inclusivity, integrity and respect of our students when supporting our school community and I look forward to our partnership continuing well into the future.

Testimonial from student Brayden Walker:

In 2017, I was very fortunate to receive a scholarship of $2000 to support me in my final year of my secondary education at Emerson school. It is hard to describe how I felt when I received this award. I have never received anything like this in my life.

I enrolled at Emerson School in 29th January, 2013 because I had learning needs that needed individual attention. I did not have much confidence in myself. The Emerson School staff have always encouraged me to have a positive attitude. The Mulgrave Club Scholarship opened so many opportunities for me. My final year at school in 2018 was the best year in my life so far.

My graduate year started with me being elected Senior School Captain. Having received a Certificate Two in Parks and Gardens, I went on to complete a Certificate Two in Catering and Operations. I was able to obtain casual employment at The Dandenong RSL Bistro as part of my catering studies. In this job, I worked as a waiter with duties that included customer service, taking menu orders, kitchen hand work, cleaning and table setting in the restaurant.

… I worked hard on my interpersonal skills, personal presentation and work efficiency. The Mulgrave Country Scholarship helped me to grow in my Hospitality Studies and enabled me to plan for the future with greater personal confidence. In 2019, I am participating in an Employment Development Program with an organisation called Burke and Beyond. I have increased my employment time at The Dandenong RSL with an aim to obtaining full time employment along with further training. I would like to thank you for enabling me to do the things that I did in my graduate year at Emerson School. I will be forever grateful.

Yours sincerely,

Further to our recent discussions, I am writing to express our gratitude to the Mulgrave Country Club (MCC) for your ongoing support of the Rowville Netball Club.

The Rowville Netball Club currently has over 300 playing members covering 34 teams from our younger net set go teams right through to a number of senior teams. We pride ourselves on providing a safe and positive sporting outlet for females in the local community.

The sponsorship support from MCC is crucial when it comes to the day to day operations of our club. The financial support enables us to upgrade equipment when required and is also used to assist with the costs of our presentation functions.

In addition to the financial support, MCC also hosts our two largest functions each year, namely junior and senior presentations. MCC also hosts our regular committee meetings.

The Rowville Netball Club is very lucky to receive such wonderful support from Mulgrave Country Club. We look forward to our excellent working relationship continuing well into the future.

CPEC provides intensive therapy services to babies and children with CP and currently provides services to over 180 children and their families throughout Victoria.

We consider the Mulgrave Country Club as a loyal partner in helping CPEC. Mulgrave Country Club over the past 3 years has donated $51,000 to support services and equipment, in additional to providing a venue for our annual High Tea and Graduation Celebrations. We are always thrilled to have both the General Manager and President attend all our events including supporting the children at their end of year celebrations. The families are always grateful that they take time out from their day to support them on these occasions.

CPEC’s families and staff are grateful to receive such generous support each year from the Mulgrave Country Club.

I, Paul Shaw, president and on behalf of the Waverley Park Hawks Junior Football Club would like to say how proud we are of our partnership with the Mulgrave Country Club.

For many years now the MCC has been our major sponsor providing much needed funds to help our club become what it is today. Without the ongoing support from clubs like the MCC, many volunteer based clubs such as ours, would most likely struggle to survive.

Not only do we get financial support from the MCC we also got support from the club via use of their facilities at no charge whilst our new clubrooms were under construction. Things such as this often go unnoticed but show the MCC’s commitment to our local community.

The MCC’s role in our local community, in our view, is second to none and look forward to many more years of continuing our partnership with the MCC.
